Where to GO! for a bicycle ride

Phil’s Trail Complex has topped the podium as the destination for a bicycle ride. Featuring more than 300 miles of mostly single-track riding through the Deschutes National Forest, Phil’s Trail Complex is a national mountain bike destination, consistently ranking among outdoors magazines’ lists as some of the best cross-country mountain bike riding available. And while many expert-level jumps, berms and table tops have been created by volunteer trail workers, there are plenty of mellower trails that can accommodate riders looking for a flowing pine-needle-churning pleasure ride. BendTrails.org provides a comprehensive and user-updated guide, which assigns ski run designations — green circle for easy, blue square for more difficult and black diamonds for extremely difficult — to trails. The high quality of Phil’s Trail Complex owes to Central Oregon’s community of conscientious mountain bikers and the Central Oregon Trail Alliance.
