Where to GO! for barbecue

Central Oregon’s love of the outdoors naturally extends to its cuisine, and what’s more outdoorsy, food-wise, than a barbecue? You don’t have to do-it-yourself in Bend if you don’t want to, though. Take a tip from our readers, who voted Baldy’s Barbeque the top spot for Where to GO! in Central Oregon for barbecue.

Since opening on the west side of Bend in 2005, Baldy’s has maintained a family-oriented approach to food, which has been key to helping the restaurant thrive in such a tight-knit community, according to owner Brian Dioguardi. That attitude is reflected in Baldy’s tag line, “taste the love.” Dioguardi’s passion runs in the family — five of his seven siblings also run restaurants. Baldy’s east side location opened in 2008, with a Redmond restaurant following in 2011. Popular menu items include (naturally) the baby back ribs, beef brisket and pulled pork, according to Dioguardi.
