When Central Oregonians aren’t out at a show listening to music, they’re making some of their own. Musicians and non-musicians alike can get in on some karaoke, and the place to do that is Silver Moon Brewing, which was our readers’ pick for Where to GO! for karaoke.

True, Silver Moon does not have a dedicated karaoke night. It earned the top spot because of Careaoke For a Cure, a fundraiser for the Bend chapters of the American Cancer Society and Relay For Life, started in June 2016 by local musician and cancer survivor Mark Quon and his wife Linda (of local groups The Quons and Parlour). Moved to November last year due to renovations at Silver Moon, the event — spread over three nights — pulled in $6,876 through registration fees, beer and merchandise sales and donations, according to marketing manager Pam Balmuth.
