We’re pretty far from the border here in Central Oregon, but when has distance ever stopped our local foodies? Mexican food in particular is a Bend favorite, and the winner of Where to GO! for Mexican food, La Rosa Modern Mexican Kitchen, stands above the rest for our readers.

The “modern” in La Rosa’s name is a pretty good indication of what you’ll get here: a fresh, distinctly Bend take on traditional favorites such as tacos, burritos, enchiladas and more. The restaurant’s family- and community-oriented spirit has allowed it to thrive in two locations in town, NorthWest Crossing (where the restaurant relocated from College Way in 2008) and Brookswood Plaza. Customer favorites, per online reviews, include the house-made tortilla chips with salsa and bean dip served before every meal, homemade guacamole and the red cactus margarita.
