Prep sports in brief

Local soccer players commit to colleges — Ridgeview’s Aspen Jeter and Summit’s Piper Flannery and Maggi McElrath have all committed to play women’s soccer at the college level beginning in the fall. Jeter, the 2017 Intermountain Conference player of the year and a Class 5A first-team all-state selection this past season, will play at NCAA Division II Concordia University in Portland. Flannery, a member of three 5A state championship teams with the Storm, including in 2017, has signed on to play at Boise State. Also from Summit, McElrath, a first-team all-state player this past season, will play at Division II Embry-Riddle Aeronautical University in Daytona Beach, Florida.
