Beavers’ Tinkle gets Pac-12 honor

Oregon State’s Tres Tinkle was named the Pac-12 men’s basketball player of the week after averaging 24.5 points, eight rebounds, 6.5 assists and two steals in a sweep of the Washington schools.
Against the Cougars, Tinkle, a redshirt sophomore, scored a game-high 20 points and added five rebounds, five assists and three steals. Against the Huskies, he nearly posted a triple-double with 29 points, 11 rebounds and a career-high eight assists. He scored the final five points in regulation to help send the game to overtime.
Tinkle won the honor for the second time in his career. He is the first Oregon State player to win it this season.
In the conference, Tinkle ranks sixth is scoring (18.5 points per game), 10th in rebounding (7.0), 12th in assists (3.6) and fifth in steals (1.5).
Among other nominees for the weekly award was Oregon guard Payton Pritchard.
