CHILOQUIN — A surprisingly successful season came to a close for Central Christian on Wednesday night.
Playing in a Mountain Valley League play-in game at Chiloquin, the Tigers from Redmond were outscored by 11 points in the third quarter as Chiloquin pulled away for a 65-47 boys basketball win.
The Panthers advance to the league semifinals, while Central Christian’s season ends with a 13-10 record.
Jace Mills scored 12 points for the Tigers, whose 13 wins this season matched the program’s combined victories over the past five seasons. Also for Central Christian, Rylan Robinson and Josh Biever each scored eight points.
The future appears bright for the Tigers, whose roster this season included just one senior. Central Christian finished fifth in the MVL standings with a 7-6 record after going just 8-32 in league play over the past three years.
