JORDAN VALLEY — A historical Trinity Lutheran season came to an end Wednesday night, as the Saints of Bend, making their first appearance in the Class 1A boys basketball state playoffs, lost 65-44 at Jordan Valley in the first round of the 1A bracket.

Matthew Eidler had 22 points, five assists and five rebounds for Trinity Lutheran, which was outscored 16-7 in the first quarter and 18-10 in the third period. Abe Clift contributed seven points for the Saints.

Trinity put together a program-best 19-9 regular season and claimed third place at the Mountain Valley League tournament to earn a bid to the state playoffs. The Saints are set up for another potential postseason run next year, as all 12 players on their roster — including standouts Clift and Eidler — are expected to return for the 2018-19 campaign.
