2017 Residential Real Estate Market Report Released

Published 12:00 am Saturday, February 24, 2018

Last year, 2017, the Central Oregon Association of REALTORS® (COAR) partnered with ECONorthwest to do a deep dive into the years of residential property sales data in the Multiple Listing Service of Central Oregon. On a quarterly basis, COAR and ECONorthwest will prepare a report on residential markets in the areas of Bend, Crook County, Jefferson County, La Pine, Redmond, Sisters, and Sunriver. The reports will examine home pricing, number of days on market, the types of units sold, sales volume, and the types of financing used.

The first report highlights an active and growing real estate market in 2017. Sales volumes increased in most regional markets and time on market rates continued to decline. Home prices in Central Oregon also continued to rise. In 2017, Sisters and Bend led the pack with the most expensive homes in the region. Other markets have also witnessed gains in home prices. For all markets, there was a 2.92 percent decline in the number of units sold and a 10.3 percent increase in the average price.
