Military notes

• U.S. Air Force Airman Justin D. Warren has graduated from basic military training at Joint Base San Antonio-Lackland, San Antonio, Texas. He is a 2012 graduate of Mountain View High School and the son of Brad and Danielle Warren of Bend.

College notes

• Hannah Cockrum, of Bend, has been named to Wheaton College’s dean’s list for the fall 2017 semester. To earn dean’s list honors at Wheaton, an undergraduate student must achieve a term GPA of 3.5 or greater and complete 12 or more graded hours.

• Bethany Johnson, of Prineville, has graduated from Bethel University following the fall 2017 semester. Johnson earned a bachelor’s degree in environmental science.

Musical notes

• John Fawcett, of Bend, has won the Music Teachers National Association Northwest Division Senior Strings competition. He will travel to Florida next month to compete nationally with other Senior Strings winners from the seven divisions throughout the country. The 17-year-old violinist is a senior at Redmond Proficiency Academy and the son of Rich and Urszula Fawcett.
