ctober 16, 1949 – October 30, 2017

Carol Kari Bicart – loving daughter, wife, mother, dedicated teacher and devoted grandmother; passed away peacefully on October 30, 2017, surrounded by family and friends after a battle with cancer.

Carol was born October 16, 1949 in Portland, OR, and she lived in Oregon her whole life. In 1971, she married Ross Kari and they lovingly raised two children together up until his passing in 1995.

In 2006, Carol married Kenneth Bicart and the family grew to include his three sons and their children and spouses.

In 1971, she graduated from Oregon College of Education and lived in Myrtle Creek, The Dallas, and Klamath Falls, before settling down in Madras. Carol worked for 32 years as a teacher and retired in 2003. She was very active in DKG, as well as her church, and she was also a Mary Kay Cosmetics Consultant for 30 years.

She was an avid lover of history and traveled extensively in the United States; taking many road trips over the years to see family in Chicago, Michigan, Florida, Texas, Alabama, and American historical sites throughout the East Coast. She also very much enjoyed driving with Kenny in local parades in their unique classic cars and participating in the county fair with her award-winning raspberry jam.

Carol’s grandchildren, Martin, Evelyn, and newborn Vera; will be regaled with loving stories of their grandmother when they are old enough to appreciate and to understand what a wonderful woman she was. Stories like her very special 68th birthday party that started off as a small gathering, but grew organically through her network of many friends and family members and ended up filling an entire conference hall where we had pizza, cake, and played live music.

A Celebration of Life ceremony will be held from 4pm-6pm on Saturday, March 17, 2018 at the Erickson Aircraft Collection, 2408 NW Berg Drive, in Madras. All who knew and loved Carol are welcome to attend.
