Gregory Hinton to speak — Author, historian and filmmaker Gregory Hinton will give the talk “Out West with Buffalo Bill,” 6 p.m. Tuesday at the High Desert Museum, 59800 S. U.S. Highway 97, Bend. Hinton grew up in the Western states of Montana, Colorado and Wyoming, and will share his life narrative of being a gay man who left home to find community and security. Hinton will share how his desire to return home as his true self resulted in the acclaimed program series “Out West,” which includes lectures, plays, film and gallery exhibitions. Hinton’s visit is in conjunction with the photo exhibition “Blake Little: Photographs from the Gay Rodeo,” on display at the museum through April 30. Hinton discovered Little’s photography while researching the history of the gay rodeo circuit. Admission for the lecture is $10, $5 for museum members. Admission is free for COCC and OSU-Cascades students. RSVP at highdesertmuseum.org/out-west.
