The outdoor-industry accelerator Bend Outdoor Worx announced Friday it has selected three companies to participate in its next session.
The companies are as follows: KidRunner, a Bend company that makes a high-performance, multiterrain jogger; Orange Screw of Bingen, Washington, which makes a ground anchor from recycled materials; and Rugged Thread, a Bend repair facility for technical clothing and gear.
Angel investor Andy Boyd, who recently moved to Bend from Boulder, Colorado, will join Bend Outdoor Worx as a mentor of the 2018 cohort. Boyd spent the majority of his career with Agility Recovery Solutions, a disaster-recovery company. Bend Outdoor Worx has mentored 11 companies since launching in 2014.
