Adaptive Sports

Sign-ups now open for Ski For All — Registration is now open for the inaugural Oregon Adaptive Sports Ski For All event, which will be held March 24 at Mount Bachelor. The event, a fundraiser for OAS, is open to skiers and snowboarders of all ages and abilities. Participants pay or agree to raise $50 ($25 for participants 12 and under) and then ski or ride as many vertical feet as possible on the day of the event. Running

King wins Way Too Cool 50K — Bend runner Max King, 38, won the Way Too Cool 50K Saturday in Cool, California, in a time of 3 hours, 18 minutes, 4 seconds, besting a field of 601 runners. King beat runner-up Jared Hazen, 22 and of Flagstaff, Arizona, by 33 seconds. Another Bend resident, Colton Gale, 27, finished ninth overall in 3:35:44.

Soccer

Soccer ref instruction to be held March 17 — An entry-level soccer referee course of prospective officials 13 and older will be held at the High Lakes Elementary School library in Bend on March 17. The course will run from 9 a.m. to 6 p.m. and costs $85. Online registration is available at https://form.jotform.com/80585137384160. Swimming

RAPRD to host lifeguarding course during spring break — Cascade Swim Center will host a lifeguarding course March 27-31 for prospective lifeguards 15 and older. The class, which will meet from 10 a.m. to 6 p.m. each day, will certify participants in lifeguarding, CPR and first aid. Those who sign up should be strong swimmers able to swim at least 300 meters (12 lengths of the pool) without stopping. Registration costs $180. Bodybuilding

NPC Cascadian Classic to be held May 26 — The 2018 NPC Cascadian Classic will be held at The Riverhouse Convention Center on May 26. The Cascadian Classic is a national qualifier that will feature bikini, bodybuilding, physique, figure and fitness divisions, and entry costs $100 per class entered. Tickets for spectators cost $25 for the pre-judging and $35 for the evening finals. Tickets and participant registration are both available at www.cascadianclassic.com. Table Tennis

Fuller wins monthly round-robin tournament, Sample second in Akron tourney — Stephen Fuller won the Bend Table Tennis February round-robin tournament on Feb. 21, winning eight of nine matches and beating Tom Howes 2-1 in the A Group final. Cuba Besse won five of seven matches in the B Group and beat George Lee 2-0 to win that division. Bend Table Tennis member Paul Sample competed at the $3,000 Newgy Ohio Open in Akron, Ohio, Feb. 16-17, finishing second in the Under 1500 Giant round robin division. Sample went 4-1 in round-robin play and beat No. 1-seed Dale Goff of Charleston, West Virginia, 3-2 in the semifinal before falling 3-0 to Samip Shah of Cleveland in the final. The regular Bend Table Tennis open play sessions are canceled Monday and March 21.
