Cougars, Lava Bears lead all-IMC teams — Mountain View’s Matt Van Tassell, a senior, and Chase McClain, a junior, have been voted the Intermountain Conference boys basketball players of the year after leading the Cougars to the IMC championship. Mountain View’s Brian Broaddus was named coach of the year. Also voted to the first team were Bend High junior Brian Warinner, Summit senior Karson Klecker and Redmond High senior Josh Hair. For the IMC girls, champion Bend swept the top honors as senior Cambree Scott was selected player of the year while Todd Ervin was voted coach of the year. Bend senior Kylee Roath was selected to the all-IMC first team, as were Summit senior Hailee Neibauer, Ridgeview senior Aspen Jeter, Redmond junior Ava Kitchin and Mountain View sophomore Bailey Dickerson.

Madras sweeps TVC girls honors — Madras senior Lynden Harry has been voted Tri-Valley Conference girls basketball player of the year, receiving the honor for the third straight season. The White Buffaloes’ Zach Lillebo was named coach of the year, while Madras senior Kaliyah Iverson joined Harry on the all-TVC first team. Also for Madras, sophomore Jiana Smith-Francis and freshman Jayden Davis were voted to the second team, and senior Alesha Freeman and junior Vanessa Culps received honorable mention. Crook County seniors Odessa Tramel-Green and Emma Ackley received honorable mention.

Buffs, Cowboys recognized as all-league — Madras senior Kanim Smith III and junior teammate Byron Patt have been selected to the Tri-Valley Conference boys basketball first team and were joined by Crook County senior Chase Bales. White Buffaloes senior Tyler Lockey and Cowboys junior Thaiden Mullan were voted to the all-TVC second team, while Crook County junior Shane Kessi received honorable mention. Gladstone senior Lyric Warren was voted player of the year, and Gladstone’s Cody Aker was named coach of the year.
