• The city of Prineville will be awarded a $962,271 Community Development Block Grant from Business Oregon to repair and rehabilitate the Prineville Senior Center building. In order to help secure the funding, Prineville and Crook County pledged to match a portion of the funds provided by the grant, along with Soroptimists Charitable Trust, Perrin Foundation Grant and TransCanada Corp. The Senior Center is owned and operated by the Soroptimist International of Prineville Charitable Trust.
• NeighborImpact has been granted $15,000 from the Cow Creek Umpqua Indian Foundation for its food recovery program. The funds will be applied toward costs associated with collecting and delivering food through the organization’s distribution network.
• The 27 Elm, a new two-level town-home complex in Redmond, is holding its grand opening on Thursday from 11 a.m. to 1 p.m. The pet-friendly rental community is at 2650 NW Elm Ave.
• High Desert Museum has been named one of 29 finalists by the Institute of Museum and Library Services, in Washington, D.C., for the 2018 National Medal for Museum and Library Service. The National Medal is the nation’s highest honor given to museums and libraries for service to their communities. Winners will be announced later this spring.
