The four finalists for principal at Mountain View High School in Bend will meet with residents Monday at 5 p.m. in the school’s cafeteria.
All four candidates now work as administrators at schools in Oregon and Idaho. One of the four men will begin as Mountain View principal on July 1, when current principal Katie Legace starts a new job as executive director of high schools for Bend-La Pine Schools.
Michael Hicks, the one local candidate, has been assistant principal at Bend High School for the past year. The other finalists are Alvin Baptiste, the current principal of Dufur School in north-central Oregon; Justin Huntley, current principal of Sutherlin High School in southeastern Oregon, and Matthew Barnes, upper school head at the Community School and Sun Valley Ski Academy in Sun Valley, Idaho.
Bend residents can ask questions and offer feedback during Monday’s meeting.
