Lukas Nelson and Promise of the Real have kept busy since headlining the fifth annual Newberry Event Music and Arts Festival to Defeat MS in La Pine last year. The band, led by the son of country great Willie Nelson, expanded its lineup and sound on its self-titled fourth album, released roughly a month after the Newberry Event and featuring collaborations with Willie and Lady Gaga. Then, in December, the band collaborated on a second album with Neil Young, “The Visitor.” Another Young collaboration, “Paradox,” a soundtrack to the upcoming film written and directed by Daryl Hannah, arrives March 23, and Lukas also co-produced music for the upcoming film remake “A Star is Born,” starring Gaga and Bradley Cooper. But the busy group found time for little old Central Oregon again: The self-described “cowboy hippie surf rock” quintet will perform a free show at Crow’s Feet Commons on Saturday.
Lukas Nelson and Promise of the Real: 7 p.m. Saturday; free; Crow’s Feet Commons, 875 NW Brooks St., Bend; crowsfeetcommons.com or 541-728-0066.
