Nike ouster — Nike, the Beaverton-based sports apparel brand, says one of its senior executives will step down in August. Nike did not say why Trevor Edwards, its brand president who had been seen as a possible future CEO, was leaving the company. His resignation was announced to Nike employees in an internal memo that said the company had received complaints about inappropriate workplace behavior. The memo from CEO Mark Parker didn’t specify the nature of the complaints or whether they involved Edwards or other executives.
State librarian fired — Gov. Kate Brown ousted state librarian MaryKay Dahlgreen on Tuesday. Dahlgreen was fired because she “fell short of clear and timely expectations from legislators,” said Kate Kondayen, Brown’s spokeswoman. Oregon State Library Board of Directors Chair Ann Malkin said the board and librarians throughout the state thought Dahlgreen, who had been a State Library employee since 1996, did a great job. Malkin said she expected the board would have had input. The State Library, among other things, is a research arm for other state departments. Dahlgreen is the seventh department chief to be ousted since Brown took office in 2015.
