Through hail, rain, wind and chilly temperatures, eight teams opened the track and field season at the Crook County Icebreaker on Thursday afternoon.
Among Central Oregon teams competing were Crook County, Ridgeview and Culver, while Baker, Burns, Grant Union, Ione and North Lake all traveled to Prineville for the meet. Of note, the Cowboys’ Noah Chaney cleared 14 feet, 9 inches to win the boys pole vault and set a school record in the process.
