Michael Hicks, an assistant principal at Bend High School, will become Mountain View’s principal in July.

Hicks has been an assistant principal in Bend for the past year. He also previously worked for five years as an assistant high school principal in California, spent four years as a dean of students and four years teaching.

In a statement, Hicks said he had heard wonderful things about the Mountain View staff, students and community and was excited to build on the school’s programs and culture.

He’ll replace current principal Katie Legace, who will start a new role as Bend-La Pine Schools’ executive director of high schools.
