Sisters rallies past Forest Grove

FOREST GROVE — After trailing 9-5 early in the fourth quarter, Sisters stormed back to tie the score late in regulation and force overtime. And in the sudden-death period, Judah Keeton scored the game-winner off an assist from Jake Stevens to earn the Outlaws a 10-9 nonconference boys lacrosse win over Forest Grove on Saturday.

Ethan Morgan and Trey Stadeli each had four goals to pace Sisters (2-0), while Jake Pilarski and Keeton each scored once. The Outlaws’ Casey Warburton had 12 saves in goal.

Southridge 11, Summit 8: BEAVERTON — Justin Radatti had three goal and two assists, but the Storm (0-2) were outscored 5-2 in the second quarter before falling in nonconference play. Paddy Bergin, Henry Bledsoe and Jason Ward each had a goal for Summit.

Glencoe 15, Bend 3: HILLSBORO — The Lava Bears (0-2) fell in nonconference play.

Mountain View 9, La Salle 5: The Cougars (1-0) opened the season with a nonconference win.

Baseball

Putnam 5, Redmond 4: REDMOND — The Panthers led 4-1 after the fourth inning before Putnam rallied with four runs over the final three frames to claim the nonconference win. Colt Folston led Redmond (2-2) with two RBIs.

Churchill 8, Summit 6; Wilsonville 9, Summit 3: REDMOND — In their first of two nonconference games at Redmond High, the Storm scored three runs in the bottom of the seventh in their season opener but could not close the gap with the Lancers, who scored six runs in the second inning. Evan Scalley had three hits for Summit, and Drew Steelhammer drove in two runs. Against Wilsonville, the Storm (0-2) grabbed a 3-1 lead after the second inning but allowed two runs in the sixth and four in the seventh before falling in nonconference play.

Aloha 12, Mountain View 1: The Cougars (0-3) scored in the first inning and led until the Warriors pulled away with a five-run fourth inning. Ryan Martini accounted for three of Mountain View’s seven hits.

Softball

Wilsonville 11, Summit 1: WILSONVILLE — The Storm plated a run in the top of the first inning but allowed five runs in the home half and never regained control in a season-opening loss. Hailey Nelson had a hit, scored a run and stole a base for Summit. Amanda Mellor recorded a hit and a stolen base, and Grace Lear had a hit.

The Dalles 11-3, Bend 5-3: THE DALLES — Emma Mone was 2-for-3 with a triple and two RBIs in a loss in the first game of a nonconference doubleheader, and the Lava Bears salvaged a tie in the second game, which was called after seven innings because of time. In the opener, Erin Conrad was 2-for-4 for Bend (2-1-1), and Olivia Dority had a two-run single in the second game.

Thurston 9, Crook County 8: SPRINGFIELD — Emma Ackley went 3-for-4 with four RBIs, but the Cowgirls allowed two runs in the bottom of the seventh inning to drop a nonconference game. Berkley Puckett had two hits and two RBIs for Crook County (2-2), which used a five-run seventh inning to go up 8-7. The Cowgirls’ Emma Lees had two hits and scored two runs.

Track and field

Cowgirls shine at invite: SPRINGFIELD — Kenna Woodard won the shot put and the discus and was fifth in the javelin for the Crook County girls at the Throwers Invitational at Thurston High. No team scores were reported. Also for the Cowgirls, Esther Brewer was fourth in the javelin. The Crook County boys boasted Tyler Humseton (shot) and Jason Slawter (javelin) each placing fourth, while Caleb Parrott took fifth in the discus at the five-team event.
