Pixies’ wave of mutilation will wash over Les Schwab Amphitheater once again.
The seminal ’80s indie rock band will perform at the venue Aug. 5 with Brooklyn noise-pop duo Sleigh Bells. Pixies is currently touring with Weezer in support of its second reunion album, 2016’s “Head Carrier” (Weezer will sit out the Bend date).
The band, whose quiet-loud dynamics, unhinged vocals and squalling guitar influenced a generation of musicians from Nirvana to Kings of Leon to, well, Weezer, last performed at Les Schwab during its initial reunion tour in 2004. Since that show, founding bassist Kim Deal left the band and was replaced by A Perfect Circle’s Paz Lenchantin.
Tickets cost $43.50 plus fees in advance or $50 at the gate, and go on sale at 10 a.m. Friday at bit.ly/bbPixies or the Ticket Mill in the Old Mill District. Tickets will be limited to six per customer or order, according to the announcement from the amphitheater. Visit bendconcerts.com for more information.
