Housing Works, the Central Oregon affordable housing agency, expects to break ground this week on new rental projects in Sisters and La Pine.
Village Meadows Apartments in Sisters and La Pine Townhomes are for individuals and families earning 60 percent or less of the area median income. For a family of four in Deschutes County, the income threshold would be $38,280.
Village Meadows will total 48 units, most of which are one-bedroom flats. Rents will range from $620 a month for a one-bedroom unit to $827 for a three-bedroom unit. Housing Works expects the Sisters project to be completed in January 2019.
La Pine Townhomes will total 42 units, most of which will have two or three bedrooms. It will be the first rental community in La Pine for low-income families. Previous affordable-housing projects have been reserved for seniors. Rents at the townhomes will range from $596 per month to $827 per month. That project is expected to be complete in March 2019.
Epic Property Management will open the application process a few months before the construction completion date.
