Show announcements in Central Oregon this week:
• Sisters Folk Festival will get some bluesy company this year in the form of the first Sisters Rhythm & Brews Festival. The two-day event, which celebrates local craft beer and, naturally, the blues, takes place Aug. 3 and 4 on two stages at Village Green Park. The initial lineup announced last week includes John Mayall, Walter Trout, Tommy Castro & The Painkillers, Shemekia Copeland, Nikki Hill, Cedric Burnside, Curtis Salgado, Mr. Sipp, Shanda and The Howlers, Hillstomp and Down North. Early-bird tickets cost $125 plus fees and are available now through May 31 at bendticket.com. Ticket price increases to $145 plus fees starting June 1. Visit sistersrhythmandbrews.com for more information.
• Michael Glabicki and Dirk Miller of Rusted Root have canceled their duo show at the Tower Theatre scheduled for Friday due to “scheduling difficulties,” according to Tower Executive Director Ray Solley. Refunds are available at the point of purchase.
