Storm come out ahead at Raven-Cowboy Classic

POWELL BUTTE — With four players placing in the top four, Summit posted a team score of 309 to take first place at the six-team Raven-Cowboy Classic boys golf tournament at Brasada Ranch on Wednesday.
William Fleck rode four birdies to an even-par 72 and tournament medalist honors for the Storm, who won by 33 strokes over runner-up Bend, which finished at 342. Ridgeview was third at 351, followed by Mountain View (394), Crook County (406) and Redmond (409).
Hayden Klein, Jackson Murphy and Charlie Hobin went 3-4-5 for Summit, each finishing with three birdies. The Storm’s Luke Simoneau tied for sixth with an 81.
For the Lava Beras, Parker Krovisky tied for sixth place, Jack McCleary was eighth with an 86, Tyler Floyd finished ninth at 87, and Cort Benner tied for 10th at 88. Ridgeview’s Isaac Buerger carded a 1-over 73, while Mountain View’s Isaac Vanderpool tied for 10th at 88.
Hogan Smith led Crook County with a 96 that tied for 16th place, and Redmond’s Iggy Burk tied for 19th at 100.

Hermiston 18, Bend 3: Hermiston jumped to an 8-0 lead in the top of the first inning en route to a nonconference win. Bend’s Olivia Dority doubled in the second inning for the Lava Bears (2-2-1) and scored on a double by Emily Smith. Erin Conrad and Jessie Wiest each had an RBI for Bend.
Reynolds 11, Redmond 3: TROUTDALE — Brooklyn Thompson went 3-for-4 with an RBI double, but the Panthers fell in nonleague play. Ondriah Oyloe had two doubles and an RBI for Redmond (1-3), and Kiki Fierstos scored and knocked in a run.
Girls track and field
Cougars take own meet: Jasmine Martin won the triple jump, high jump and 100 hurdles, and Mountain View posted 83 points to edge Ridgeview by one point in a four-team meet at Mountain View. The Cougars’ Cassidy Hughes was first in the discus and the javelin and finished second in the shot put. For the Ravens, who had 82 points, Gabi Crouch won the 100 and the 200, while Rylee Troutman took second in the javelin and third in the high jump. Irma Retano won the 400, 800 and 3,000 for third-place Culver, which had 47 points, and Redmond, which posted 33 points, featured second-place showings by Madyson Love (long jump), Olivia McNamara (triple jump) and Genna Taylor (3,000).
Summit rolls past Bend: The Storm’s Emma Normand won the 200 and ran a leg of the winning 4×100 relay to help Summit defeat the visiting Lava Bears 97-48. Haley Smith won both the discus and the javelin for the Storm, and Summit’s Asha Turnbull won the triple jump and set a personal record in the long jump at 15-10¾. For Bend, Taylor Petz won the 100 hurdles and was second in the 300 hurdles and the pole vault. The Bears’ Grace Toney took first in the 400 and second in the 200, and Kayla Rambo won the shot put and was second in the discus.
Outlaws win 6-team meet: PRINEVILLE — Erynn Ricker won the pole vault, Jade Anaya took the triple jump, and Sisters recorded 94 points to place first at the six-team Crook County Relays. Ryliereece Morgan won the long jump and was third in the high jump for the Outlaws. Kenna Woodward was second in both the shot put and the discus and was third in the javelin for second-place Crook County, which had 78 points. For La Pine, which took third with 62 points, Jordynn Slater won the shot put, discus and javelin. Olivia Symons was third in the long jump for Madras, which placed sixth with 18 points.
Boys track and field
Cougs dominate at home: Luke Schulz placed first in the javelin, third in the discus and fourth in the shot put to lead Mountain View to 96 points and a first-place finish in a four-team meet at Mountain View. Reed Sehorn-Hurst won the shot put for the Cougs, and Quinn Olarrea was first in the 3,000. Ridgeview, which was second with 81.5 points, was led by two victories apiece by Micah Cupp (100, 200) and Albert Hesse (800, 1,500). Tyson Hester was first in both the 110 hurdles and the long jump and took second in the javelin for third-place Redmond, which had 54 points, while Kash Michael (high jump), Caden Engel (400) and Johan Jaimes (110 hurdles) each placed second for Culver. The Bulldogs finished fourth with 25.5 points.
Summit beats Bend in dual: Jack Cauble won the 200, Noah Turnbull won both the shot put and the discus, and Ryan Tennant won the long jump and triple jump to lead the Storm to a 104-41 victory over visiting Bend. The Lava Bears’ Bennet Jackson set a personal record in the 3,000 meters, winning in 9:28.30, while Raymond Blasquez took first in the 100 and second in both the 200 and the high jump.
Cowboys roll to victory: PRINEVILLE — Behind stellar throwing from Tyler Humeston and Caleb Parrott, Crook County logged 140 points to place first at the six-team Crook County Relays. Humeston and Parrott went 1-2 in the shot put, and Parrott defeated Humeston in the discus for the Cowboys, who defeated runner-up Madras (99 points). For the White Buffaloes, Treyvon Easterling (triple jump) and Catalino LeClaire (javelin) each recorded wins. Garrett Kersavage was third in both the triple jump and the pole vault for Sisters, which was third with 55 points. La Pine, which was fourth with 39.33 points, was led by Wyatt Oldham’s runner-up showing in the triple jump.
Girls lacrosse
Summit 21, Sisters 11: SISTERS — Julia Stites had seven goals and four assists, Erin McIntyre scored five goals, and the Storm cruised to a Central Oregon League win. Ashlyn Radatti had four scores for Summit (2-0 COL, 5-0 overall), Maggie Hawkins and Spencer Hurley each scored twice, and Bridget Lockrem had 19 saves in goal. For the Outlaws (1-2, 3-2), Ellie Cook had four goals, while Mia Cook and Skylar Wilkins each scored twice.
