A rundown of games and events to watch for locally and nationally from the world of sports (all times Pacific):

Monday

Women’s college basketball, NCAA Tournament, Oregon vs. Notre Dame at Spokane, Wash., 6 p.m. (ESPN): It’s on to the Spokane Regional final for the No. 2-seeded Ducks, who got this far last year and are looking to advance to the Final Four. In their path is a No. 1-seeded Fighting Irish team that also has been here before — Notre Dame will be playing in the Elite Eight for the seventh time in the past eight seasons.

Tuesday

NBA basketball, Portland at New Orleans, 5 p.m. (NBCSNW): The Trail Blazers dropped two in a row on the heels of a 13-game winning streak but got back on track Sunday with a key victory at Oklahoma City to complete a sweep of their four regular-season games with the Thunder. Portland’s three-game road trip resumes with a stop at the Big Easy, then the Blazers play at Memphis on Wednesday.

Thursday

Major League Baseball, Chicago Cubs at Miami, 9:40 a.m. (ESPN); Houston at Texas, 12:35 p.m. (ESPN); San Francisco at Los Angeles Dodgers, 4:08 p.m. (ESPN); Cleveland at Seattle, 7:10 p.m. (ESPN): All 30 teams are in action on MLB’s earliest opening day ever (not counting games played abroad). Four of the openers are scheduled to be televised nationally.

Thursday-Saturday

College softball, Oregon at Oregon State, 4 p.m. Thursday; 3 p.m. Friday and Saturday (all on Pac-12 Network): The nationally ranked Ducks expect to have their hands full when they travel to Corvallis to face the rival Beavers in a three-game Pac-12 set. Oregon State is unranked but has been receiving votes in the national polls and can improve its standing greatly with a strong showing in the Civil War series.

Friday-Saturday

Rodeo, High Desert Stampede in Redmond, 7 p.m. both days: In its fourth year, the Stampede brings two nights of Professional Rodeo Cowboys Association action to the First Interstate Bank Center at the Deschutes County Fair & Expo Center. Redmond’s Steven Peebles, the 2015 world bareback champion, is among the field of expected contestants. For ticket information and a complete schedule of events, go to highdesertstampede.com.
