The Central Oregon Partnerships for Youth program will hold its spring training event for volunteers interested in mentoring a child with an incarcerated parent.
The organization will have an orientation and training event April 14. Registration is required, but the course is free to attend.
Central Oregon Partnerships for Youth is a program of the Deschutes County Sheriff’s Office established in 2005. Volunteers are matched with children who share similar interests and commit to spending a few hours a week together for a minimum of one year. The time is often spent attending events, working on homework, participating in sports and hanging out.
