REDMOND — Crook County put on an offensive clinic in a 20-3 softball win over Summit on Monday, but the Cowgirls could not capitalize in their second game, a 6-1 loss to Sweet Home, at the Redmond Spring Break Invitational.

Against the Storm, Crook County piled up 19 hits, led by Ashley Owens, who was 3-for-4 with five RBIs. Abby Dalton went 3-for-5 and drove in three runs for the Cowgirls, Caitlyn Elliott was 3-for-4, and Liz Barker had a home run and two RBIs.

Tianna Waller led Summit with two hits and an RBI.

In their second game, the Cowgirls (5-3 overall) scattered 10 hits but could not string a rally together in a five-run loss to Sweet Home.

Dalton was 3-for-4 for Crook County, while Emma Ackley and Alayna Denney each contributed two hits.

West Salem 10, Bend 0; Roseburg 10, Bend 0: MEDFORD — The Lava Bears were held to six hits over two games on the first day of the North Medford Spring Break Invite. Against Roseburg, Jessie Wiest had a triple for Bend (2-4-1), while Emma Mone and McKenzie Bradley each singled.

Ridgeview 16, Corbett 0; Ridgeview 8, Lincoln 6: REDMOND — Carissa Love was 2-for-2 with two RBIs to help the Ravens sprint past Corbett in their first of two games at the Redmond Spring Break Invitational. Natalie Hill went 2-for-3 for Ridgeview, and Allicite Frost drove in two runs. Against Lincoln, with the game tied 6-6, Frost came on in relief of Hill and shut down the Cardinals, striking out the side to end the game in the seventh inning. Ridgeview’s Ally Henry doubled in a run in the bottom of the sixth to break the 6-6 deadlock. Sage McVay led the Ravens (3-1) by going 3-for-3 with two doubles and two RBIs.

Crook County 20, Summit 3; Lincoln 29, Summit 28: REDMOND — After falling in five innings to Crook County, the Storm set a school record for most runs scored in a game but lost to Lincoln in their second game of the Redmond Spring Break Invitational. In that second game, Summit (0-3) was led by Tiana Waller, who had six hits, four of them doubles. Hailey Nelson was 4-for-5 with four runs scored for the Storm, Molly Wasserman had six hits, and freshmen Cat Stallop and Grace Dealy hit back-to-back home runs in the sixth inning.

Redmond 19, Estacada 6; Southridge 14, Redmond 4: REDMOND — Payton Rogerson struck out seven and allowed one earned run to pick up the win in the Panthers’ first of two games at the Redmond Spring Break Invitational. Kiki Fierstos had two hits in the win for Redmond (2-4). Fierstos followed with a home run in a loss to Southridge.

Sweet Home 13, Madras 3; Madras 5, Southridge 4: REDMOND — After a lackluster loss to Class 4A rival Sweet Home in its first game at the Redmond Spring Break Invitational, Madras bounced back to beat 6A Southridge. Lizzie Steuart, who had two hits in both games for the White Buffaloes (2-3), slid under the tag at home plate to score from third base on Niyallee Cochran’s infield grounder with what proved to be the winning run in the seventh inning against Southridge. Cochran was 3-for-4 with two RBIs and Arysta Pineda was 2-for-4 in the Madras victory.

Jefferson 17, Sisters 6; Gladstone 18, Sisters 3: SISTERS — Jefferson scored 11 runs in the first inning against the Outlaws, who got singles from Madilyn Larrabee, Tatum Sitz and BethAnne Yount. Against Gladstone, Sara Hartford was 3-for-3 to pace Sisters (1-6 overall) in its second nonleague loss of the day.

Philomath 21, La Pine 0; Elmira 10, La Pine 0: MEDFORD — The Hawks (2-2) suffered their first losses of the season on the first day of the North Medford Spring Break Invite.

Baseball

Scripps Ranch (Calif.) 9, Summit 5: SAN DIEGO — Sam Waterman had two hits and an RBI, helping the Storm build a 5-3 lead after the top of the fourth inning. Scripps Ranch, however, answered with three runs each in the bottom of the fourth and fifth innings to deal Summit a nonconference loss. Logan Peterson had two hits for the Storm (1-4), while Hayden Love, Dylan Anderman and Dylan Ruhl each finished with a hit and an RBI.

Putnam 8, Redmond 4; Redmond 15, David Douglas 5: PENDLETON — Four players recorded extra-base hits in Redmond’s first game at the Buck’s Spring Classic, but Putnam scored in each of the final four innings to defeat the Panthers. Kyle Simpson had a triple for Redmond, and Colby Darnell, Rhett Haigh and Austin Carter all doubled. In a victory over David Douglas, Carter racked up three hits for the Panthers (4-3), Andrew Mckague drove in four runs, and Cannon Thompson had two RBIs.

Mission Hills (Calif.) 14, Mountain View 3: SAN MARCOS, Calif. — Mission Hills piled up six extra-base hits to race by the Cougars in a nonconference matchup. Charlie Borla led Mountain View (0-5) with a hit and an RBI. Ryan Martini doubled for the Cougs, Shandon Malikowski had a hit and scored a run, and Owen Aylward drove in a run.

Sisters 5, Harrisburg 1: HARRISBURG — Dillon Tucker had two RBIs and struck out seven over 32⁄3 innings to help the Outlaws capture a nonconference win. Zach Morgan started for Sisters (4-2) and fanned five in two innings. Morgan also had three hits. Pherry Luz had two hits and an RBI for the Outlaws, and Austin Morss collected two hits.

Culver 8, Santiam 2: CULVER — Led by Justyce Loredo’s one hit and two RBIs, the Bulldogs pulled away for a nonconference win. Weston Basl singled and drove in a run for Culver (2-2), while Cord Gomes and Tadd Anderson each had a hit.

Jesuit (Calif.) 10, Bend 8: CARMICHAEL, Calif. — The Lava Bears (1-4) fell in nonconference play.
