Bend wants public input on development

- A Bend City Council meeting takes place in 2018.
The city of Bend is seeking public input on where to focus development efforts.
The city has been looking for the best way to annex and develop about 2,380 acres outside city limits and build taller, denser buildings in some areas in Bend. Prime contenders include the center of the city and an elbow-shaped area just outside southeast Bend, but city councilors want to hear from residents before making a decision.
Residents can speak during a April 4 Bend City Council meeting, starting at 7 p.m. at City Hall. Written comments can be submitted by email to council@bendoregon.gov through 5 p.m. April 13.
Councilors are expected to decide where to focus planning efforts during an April 18 meeting.
