Open house Tuesday for Bend Fire station

The Deschutes Rural Fire Protection District No. 2 will hold an open house for the public to view plans for a proposed new northeast Bend station house.
Officials will be on hand to answer questions and preliminary plans will be on display from 4 to 6 p.m. Tuesday at the Bend Municipal Court inside the Bend Police headquarters at 155 N.E. 15th St.

The district combines resources with the Bend Fire Department.
The two-story, 9,000-square foot station will have space to house four response vehicles and will allow faster emergency service to the central part of the city.
