Andy McKee returns to Tower Theatre

Following ukulele whiz Jake Shimabukuro’s triumphant return to the Tower Theatre stage in February, another jaw-dropping instrumentalist who got his start on YouTube is coming back to the venue. Guitarist Andy McKee is known for his rhythmic style and complex two-handed tapping technique, first introduced to the world in the early days of viral videos in the mid-2000s. He’s since toured with Prince and was the first artist signed to Australian guitarist Tommy Emmanuel’s CGP Sounds label, which released his sixth album, the live set “Live Book,” in 2015. Last at the Tower in November 2016, McKee will bring more guitar theatrics back to the historic theater’s stage Thursday.

Andy McKee: 8 p.m. Thursday; $24.50, 32.50 or 37.50 plus fees; Tower Theatre, 835 NW Wall St., Bend; towertheatre.org or 541-317-0700.
