On Sunday, March 18, God gave Jeff his wings and now there is a new smart-ass to stir up the Gates of Heaven. Jeff was born and raised in Bend, Oregon. For the last 27 years, he has been the owner/manager of the north Subway sandwich shop in Bend. He was always able to brighten anyone’s day with his quick wit and his infectious smile and laughter. Jeff and his wife, Deb, enjoyed hiking the beautiful Central Oregon trails with their dogs and taking long drives in the country. He loved to hunt upland birds with his dog, Teal, at his side. Jeff’s absolute favorite pastime was fishing for Kokanee at Paulina Lake with his wife and his mother, Margaret (who always caught the biggest and most fish!).
So much love, so much laughter, he made the world a better place. Death leaves a heartache no one can heal, love leaves a memory no one can steal.
Jeff is survived by his wife, Deb; his parents, Gordon and Margaret; his brothers, Mike (Rachael) and Jamie (Shawna); his step-children, Max, Duke, Larie, and James; his nieces and nephew, and extended family.
A Celebration of Life will be held at the Bend Golf and Country Club on March 31, from 3-7pm. Bring great memories to share!
The Redmond Rod and Gun Club has organized a shoot in Jeff’s honor on Saturday, March 31, from 10am-12pm.
In lieu of flowers, donations can be made in Jeff’s honor to the Humane Society of Central Oregon or to the Oregon Youth Education in Shooting Sports (checks made out to ORSCTP/ORYESS and mailed to 669 Starveout Creek Rd., Azalea, OR 97410).
