Brandon Weimer purchased Herringbone Books (422 SW Sixth St., Redmond), from former owner Kaci Aslamov on Feb. 16. Although he has significant retail experience, this is the first time Weimer, who has lived in Redmond for seven years, has owned a bookstore. “I got into this because of my love of books,” Weimer said. “I want to help kids and adults develop a love of reading.” Aslamov, who had owned Herringbone since 2015, won’t be far away if Weimer has any questions. She is opening a new workshop and retail space for artists and craftmakers called Craeft Co. right next door to Herringbone Books in downtown Redmond. Weimer is not planning any immediate changes to the independent bookstore, continuing to host author events and maintaining the existing customer rewards program. He is currently seeking community input about the possibility of increasing inventory and adding book clubs and other outreach activities. Contact: herringbonebooks.com or 541-526-1491.
