White Buffs shut out Tillamook at Madras Tournament

MADRAS — Jared Holliday pitched all six innings of Madras’ 10-0 baseball victory over Tilllamook on Thursday, holding the Cheesemakers to just two hits while striking out seven batters on the first day of the Madras Tournament.
Cheesemakers starter Justin Harmon struck out six Madras batters in 42⁄3 innings, but the Buffs (4-1) still racked up 14 hits. Byron Patt knocked in three runs on two hits, Lewis Fine recorded three hits, and Kanim Smith and Kody Zemke each had two RBIs.
Madras scored in each inning except for the first, and the game was ended early in the bottom of the sixth when the Buffs tallied their fourth run of the inning to put them ahead by 10 runs.

McMinnville 9, Ridgeview 1; Madison 5, Ridgeview 3: CENTRAL POINT — Kade Nyman pitched a complete game and singled in a run to keep the Ravens alive in the seventh inning, but Madison held off the late rally and defeated Ridgeview at the Crater Tournament. Ben Gunnels was 2-for-3, and Blake Sheldon delivered a pinch-hit RBI single in the Ravens’ two-run sixth inning. Earlier against McMinnville, Evan Hockett was 2-for-3 with a double and scored the only run for Ridgeview (1-7).
Sunset 2, Bend 0: GRANTS PASS — Cooper Simmonds’ fourth-inning single was the lone hit of the game for the Lava Bears in a loss to Sunset at the Crater Tournament. Marshall Davis, who drew a walk to lead off the seventh inning, was the only other batter to reach base for Bend (2-3). Sophomore Caden Mathisen pitched five effective innings for the Bears, allowing two runs on six hits with three strikeouts.
Crook County 18, Taft 9: MADRAS — Crook County improved to 2-3 with a win on the first day of the Madras Tournament.
