A rundown of games and events to watch for locally and nationally from the world of sports (all times Pacific):
Monday
Men’s college basketball, NCAA Tournament, Michigan vs. Villanova at San Antonio, 6:20 p.m. (TBS): All the madness of March produced a championship final pitting the Wolverines against the Wildcats. Michigan, a No. 3 seed that ended Loyola-Chicago’s Cinderella run in the semifinal round, will be a solid underdog against Villanova, a No. 1 seed that blew away Kansas, another top seed, to get to the title game.
Tuesday
NBA basketball, Portland at Dallas, 5:30 p.m. (NBCSNW): The final road trip of the regular season for the surging Trail Blazers makes three stops in Texas, starting with the Mavericks and including games at Houston on Thursday and San Antonio on Saturday. Portland is on the verge of securing the No. 3 seed in the Western Conference and home-court advantage in the first round of the playoffs.
Thursday-Sunday
Professional golf, the Masters, at Augusta, Ga., noon-4:30 p.m. Thursday and Friday (ESPN); noon-4:30 p.m. Saturday (CBS); 11 a.m.-4 p.m. Sunday (CBS): Sergio Garcia will be out to defend his championship, but the real storyline is, of course, Tiger Woods. A four-time Masters winner, Woods has battled a variety of health issues and has not played in this major tournament since 2015. Still, at 42, he is considered one of the favorites.
Sunday
Running, Peterson Ridge Rumble in Sisters: This popular early-season trail event includes races of 40 miles (starting at 8 a.m., or 7 a.m. for early starters) and 20 miles (starting at 9 a.m.), both starting and finishing at Sisters Middle School. Organizers note that because of fires in the area last year, the longer race could be shortened to about 35 miles. For more information, go to petersonridgerumble.com.
Sunday
Running, Salmon Run in Bend: The 30th annual Salmon Run races kick off with a half marathon starting at 9 a.m. and include a 10K (9:15 a.m.), a 5K (9:30 a.m.), and Little Fry runs for ages 3 to 10 (noon). All races start and finish at the Athletic Club of Bend, and the courses mostly follow the Deschutes River. For more information, go to bendraces.com/salmon-run/.
