Beginning Monday, travel on U.S. Highway 20 east of Bend will be limited during a repaving project, according to the Oregon Department of Transportation.
The $3.6 million project includes repaving the highway from the Powell Butte Highway intersection to the intersection with the Horse Ridge Frontage Road, a distance of about 7.5 miles.
High Desert Aggregate and Paving crews are leading the project under a contract with the state department of transportation.
Paving and grinding the surface of the road will start Monday. Only a single lane will be open and controlled by flaggers and a pilot car. Travelers can expect up to 20 minute delays.
During daytime hours, Monday through Friday, crews will grind out the existing highway surface, repave it, and install new signs in the process.
The entire project is scheduled to be complete by early June, depending on weather conditions.
