Deschutes County Commission candidates will debate April 17 at 10 Barrel Brewing’s 18th Street pub.

The debate, hosted by the Bend Chamber, begins at 5:30 p.m. Tickets are $20 for chamber members and $30 for the general public.

It will feature the four Republicans vying for their party’s nomination to the two open commission seats. Incumbent Tony DeBone faces Tumalo pizza shop owner Ed Barbeau, and incumbent Tammy Baney faces Deschutes County Republican Party Chairwoman Patti Adair. Two Democrats — Redmond planning commission Chairman James Cook and Bend resident Amy Lowes — are running unopposed in their primaries and will not participate in the debate.

In a press release, the chamber said candidates will answer questions on marijuana, land use and mental health.
