The Leadership Redmond Class of 2018 is seeking community support to help fund a memorial for Bob Eberhard that will be displayed in downtown Redmond.
The nonprofit is currently accepting donations that will help fund a life-size bronze statue of Eberhard, a long-time dairy farmer and local entrepreneur in Redmond who died in September at the age of 82.
“He is remembered by many in Central Oregon as a community advocate, a voice of wisdom, and an overall straight shooter,” Leadership Redmond said in a press release.
The statue will be created by artist James Haire, who also created the sculpture in memory of Eberhard’s wife, Kaye Eberhard, that is displayed at Redmond City Hall.
Donations for the Eberhard memorial can be sent to Leadership Redmond, 446 SW Seventh St., Redmond, OR 97756. Checks should be made payable to Leadership Redmond and include Eberhard Memorial Fund on the memo line.
