Bend takes 1st place at Ridgeview Invitational

REDMOND — Two top-10 placers and two others finishing within the top 15 helped Bend High post a 377 to win the Ridgeview Invitational girls golf tournament at Juniper Golf Course on Friday.
The Class 5A Lava Bears edged 6A Sprague, which was runner-up in the 12-team standings with a 382.
Grace West carded a 91 to tie for sixth place to lead Bend, and Megan McCleary finished a shot behind to tie for eighth. Kaylie Hayes tied for 11th with a 95, and Anna MacLeod was 15th with a 99.
Sprague’s Quincy Beyrouty claimed medalist honors with a 5-over 77.
Rounding out the top-five team standings was Ridgeview with a 425 as Sage Schull posted a 96 to finish 14th individually, while teammate Ali Brown tied for 20th with a 107. Kaiya Eller had a 105 to take 19th for Crook County, which was sixth as a team, and eighth-place Summit was highlighted by Sophie Dalfonsi, was runner-up with an 83.
Top players from other Central Oregon teams include Mountain View’s Morgan Hoisington, who tied for 26th; Redmond’s Elizabeth Roundtree, who was 34th; and La Pine’s Charity Hunt, who tied for 41st in the 59-player field.
