Forum set for principal finalists at Buckingham
The public is invited to meet the four finalists for principal at Buckingham Elementary School in Bend during a forum at 5 p.m. Monday in the school’s library.
Those in attendance will be able to meet the finalists, ask questions and offer feedback.
The four finalists are:
• Sarah Kimmell is the principal at Sam Boardman Elementary School in the Morrow School District, a position she has held for three years. Kimmell was a teacher for 10 years in Corvallis and Independence.
• Kevin Milner is the principal at an elementary school in Newberg, a position he has held for 19 years. For the past five years, Milner has served as an administrator for Chehalem Online Learning Alliance in the Newberg School District. Milner was a teacher for 11 years in Portland and Tigard.
• Nichole Reiland is a part-time assistant principal at Buckingham Elementary School, a position she has had for the past year. Reiland has served as a reading specialist at Buckingham for nine years. She has six years of additional teaching experience at Buckingham.
• Joan Warburg is an assistant principal at Bear Creek Elementary School, a position she has held for two years. Before her time at Bear Creek, Warburg served as principal at Hendrick Ranch Elementary School in Moreno Valley, California, for three years and served as an assistant administrator at Armada Elementary School in Moreno Valley for two years. She has 27 years of teaching experience in California.
The new principal will begin work July 1, replacing principal Sunshine Dandurand, who is leaving her position.
