Republican Deschutes County Commission candidates will participate in a May 2 candidate forum hosted by the League of Women Voters.
The forum is free and open to the public, and it starts at 5:15 p.m. at the Deschutes County services building at 1300 NW Wall St. in Bend. Doors will open at 4:30, and audience members can submit written questions for the candidates before and during the forum.
Commission Chairman Tony DeBone is running against Tumalo pizza shop owner Ed Barbeau for one position, and incumbent Tammy Baney is running against Deschutes County Republican Party Chairwoman Patti Adair for the other.
Candidates will also participate in a debate hosted by the Bend Chamber on April 17, and tickets for that event are $20 for chamber members and $30 for the general public. The primary election is May 15, and winners of the Republican primaries will go on to face uncontested Democratic candidates in November.
