The Deschutes County Sheriff’s Office is seeking the public’s help to find a runaway 13-year-old boy.

Michael K. Fenicle went missing sometime during the night Tuesday or early Wednesday morning from the Oregon Water Wonderland Subdivision south of Sunriver.

Deschutes County dispatch received two phone calls from motorists at about 4 a.m. Wednesday saying they saw a “teenage male” on U.S. Highway 97 near Lava Butte waving a flashlight at passing vehicles. Deputies checked the area, but were unable to find the teenager, who they believed to be Fenicle.

Fenicle is possibly in the Bend area and may be trying to get to the Portland area, according to the sheriff’s office.

Fenicle is 5-foot-6 inches tall, weighs 105 pounds and has brown hair and brown eyes. He was last seen wearing a green jacket, black Adidas athletic pants with white stripes on the side, blue Nike shoes and an unknown color backpack.

If anyone sees Fenicle, they are asked to contacted Deschutes County non-emergency dispatch at 541-693-6911.
