Owner: Larry King Enterprises Inc.

General contractor: Waynco Construction Inc. of Spokane, Washington

Architect: ArcVision Inc., Seattle office

Details: The Arby’s at 535 SE Third St. in Bend is undergoing an extensive remodel but is expected to reopen in mid-May, said Theresa King, co-owner of Larry King Enterprises Inc., based in Bend.

“It’s bringing it up to the new Arby’s standards,” King said.

King Enterprises also owns Arby’s restaurants in Redmond and Walla Walla, Washington, and a Taco John’s in Kennewick, Washington. The Bend restaurant will be the company’s fourth remodel, King said. “We saved the one in the town we live in for last,” she said.

The restaurant closed on March 28, King said.

The building was taken down to its studs and will get new plumbing, electrical, floors and walls, King said. The roof line also will change, she said. “The outside’s going to be totally, totally different.”

A building permit issued by the city of Bend lists the construction value of the project at $200,000.

The 52-seat restaurant with a drive-through has been an Arby’s for at least 20 years, King said. Before Arby’s, the building housed an Arctic Circle hamburger restaurant, she said.
