SISTERS — As the girls golf season hits its homestretch, it seemed appropriate to mix things up with the Red Rock Invitational.
In a scramble format at Aspen Lakes Golf Course, the Summit tandem of Sophie Dalfonsi and Paige Cloninger combined to card an even-par 72 on Thursday, besting the Storm’s Olivia Loberg and Jane Nyman by two strokes for first place.
Thursday’s tourney featured golfers pairing off for a scramble, in which both players of each team teed off and continued to play the duo’s best available shot each hole.
Bend High’s Kaylie Hayes and Anna Macleod teamed up for an 8-over-par 80, while the Lava Bears’ Virginia Felder and Bailee Carpenter took fourth with an 84.
The Ridgeview team of Ayla Adkins and Alexandria Chastain posted an 87, Crook County’s Macy Goehring and Kaiya Eller finished with a 90, and the Ravens’ Logan Dietz and Sage Schull placed seventh with a 93.
In eighth were Ridgeview’s Danika Lundgren and Ali Brown with a 96, followed by a 100 by the mixed duo of La Pine’s Charity Hunt and Ridgeview’s Josie Miller. Sisters’ Rose Williams and Briel Gourney rounded out the top 10 with a 102.
District championships will take place at the beginning of May, and the state tournaments are scheduled for May 14-15.
