Ronald Morris Gunderson was born June 5, 1937, to Mabel Doty Gunderson and Erling S. Gunderson in Vancouver, WA. The family moved to Portland, where his parents owned and ran a small grocery store. Around his 11th year, they moved to Madras, where his father owned and ran a garbage business.
Ron spent his elementary school years in Madras and graduated from Madras Union High School. His college years were at Linfield and Boise State.
He then went into the Army for two years and when he finished his time in the service, he worked in the auto business.
He married Geri Todd Baker on February 14, 1970. He then worked for Allstate Insurance and retired from State Farm Insurance.
He is survived by his wife, Geri; and stepson, Steve Baker.
He is also survived by numerous nieces and nephews.
His love of golf and sunshine brought him and his wife back over the mountain from Portland. He and Geri were long-time members of Juniper Golf course in Redmond.
Funeral services will be held at Community Presbyterian Church in Redmond on April 30 at 1:00 pm.
