The week ahead

A rundown of games and events to watch for locally and nationally from the world of sports (all times Pacific):

Monday

NHL hockey, Boston at Toronto, 4 p.m. (NBCSN); Washington at Columbus, 4:30 p.m. (CNBC): The Bruins and Capitals lead their respective Eastern Conference playoff series 3-2 and try to close out and advance to the second round. Meanwhile, the Maple Leafs and Blue Jackets are looking for home-ice wins that would force Game 7s on Wednesday.

Tuesday

NBA basketball, San Antonio at Golden State, 7:30 p.m. (TNT): The reigning champion Warriors were denied a sweep of this first-round playoff series when former Portland star LaMarcus Aldridge led the Spurs to a Game 4 victory on Sunday. Now, Golden State takes its 3-1 series lead back to Oakland to try to put away a proud but aging San Antonio team that has been without coach Gregg Popovich since his wife passed away before Game 3 last week.

Thursday-Saturday

Pro football, NFL Draft at Arlington, Texas, Round 1 at 5 p.m. Thursday (ESPN, ESPN2, Fox, NFL Network): Live coverage of Round 1 of the 2018 draft from AT&T Stadium — the first draft ever staged in an NFL stadium — is available on no fewer than four networks, all of which will also carry Rounds 2 and 3 starting at 5 p.m. on Friday. Rounds 4-7 are set for Saturday, when coverage will begin at 9 a.m. on ABC, ESPN and NFL Network.

Friday-Sunday

College softball, Oregon at Washington, 5 p.m. Friday; 1 p.m. Saturday (ESPN2); 1 p.m. Sunday (ESPN2): Last week’s national poll had the Ducks at No. 4 and the Huskies at No. 1, but that was before Oregon swept Stanford over the weekend while Washington dropped three games at No. 3 UCLA, which now leads the Pac-12. The second-place Ducks’ hopes for a conference championship likely rest with a strong performance this week in Seattle.

Saturday

Running, Sisters Better Half Marathon, 9 a.m.: A benefit for the Sisters High School swim team, this event includes a half marathon (13.1 miles), a quarter marathon (6.55 miles) and a half marathon relay (each partner covers 6.55 miles). All races start and finish at Village Green City Park in Sisters. For more information, including registration, go to www.sistershalfmarathon.com.
