SEATTLE — Madison Odiorne, a former golf standout at Bend’s Summit High School and now a junior at Washington State, was tied for seventh place in the individual standings after Monday’s second round of the Pac-12 Conference women’s golf championships.
Entering Tuesday’s final round of the 54-hole tournament at Broadmoor Golf Club, Odiorne has a two-round total of 2-under-par 142, tied with Stanford’s Emily Wang and four stokes behind co-leaders Patty Tavatanakit and Lilia Vu, both of UCLA.
After carding a 71 on Sunday that had her tied for ninth place, Odiorne matched that score Monday with a round that included five birdies against two bogeys. A double-bogey 6 on her final hole of the day — her lone double of the round — kept the four-time Oregon Class 5A state champion from finishing even higher on the second-day leaderboard.
Led by Odiorne, Washington State has a two-day team total of 599, ninth in the 11-team standings. Nationally No. 1-ranked UCLA leads after two rounds with a 573 total, followed by USC at 579. Oregon (601) and Oregon State (606) are 10th and 11th, respectively, entering Tuesday’s final 18 holes.
