SEATTLE — After finishing each of the first two rounds among the 10 low scorers, Bend’s Madison Odiorne settled for a top-20 finish at the Pac-12 Conference women’s golf championships, which concluded Tuesday at Broadmoor Golf Club.
Odiorne, a Washington State junior who starred at Summit High School, shot a 7-over-par 79 for the final round and finished at 5-over 221. After firing back-to-back rounds of 71 on Sunday and Monday that had her tied for seventh place entering Tuesday’s play, Odiorne finished in a three-player tie for 20th.
Odiorne opened her final round with a double-bogey 6. She carded five bogeys and no birdies for the day, closing with seven straight pars for her 79.
Bree Wanderscheid shot a final-round 71 and finished at 220 to lead Washington State. Odiorne’s 221 was second for the Cougars and helped them tie with Oregon for eighth place in the 11-team final standings, both with three-day totals of 896.
UCLA swept the top honors, winning the team championship by 12 strokes over USC (860-872). The Bruins’ Patty Tavatanakit and Lilia Vu tied for first place through 54 holes, both at 8-under 208; Tavatanakit won a playoff to claim the individual conference title.
Oregon State finished last in the field at 911, 10 strokes behind 10th-place California.
