Prineville resident Kevin P. Hurley, 30, was arrested early Friday after a suspected home invasion.

A resident of NW 4th Street in Prineville reported that Hurley kicked in her front door, entered her bedroom, jumped onto the bed and damaged an interior door before running out, Prineville Police Capt. Larry Seymour said. The resident did not know Hurley, who police believe was under the influence of drugs, according to a Prineville Police press statement.

Hurley was taken into custody outside the home shortly after police received the report, around 3 a.m., Seymour said. He was in handcuffs and talking to police when he attempted to flee. He made it a few steps before officers grabbed him, Seymour said. One officer’s hand was injured, but the officer did not seek medical attention.

Hurley was arrested on suspicion of first-degree burglary, assaulting a public safety officer, resisting arrest, third-degree escape and second-degree criminal mischief. He was lodged at the Crook County jail. Although he was photographed not wearing a shirt, he was fully clothed at the time of his arrest, Seymour said.
